PostBank CFO Peter Ssenyange wins top awards
PostBank Uganda Chief Financial Officer Peter Ssenyange received two honors at the ninth annual CFO Awards on Thursday. He earned the CFO of the Year and the Sustainability Award at the ceremony organized by Deloitte Uganda and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants Uganda. The awards recognize finance professionals who demonstrate leadership in strategic planning and organizational growth.
Ssenyange credited his team and management support for the recognition. The bank increased income by 20 percent to 248 billion shillings while deposits rose 25 percent to 990 billion shillings in 2024. The loan portfolio expanded by 19 percent to 719 billion shillings during his five-year tenure, as the institution rebranded as Pearl Bank.
National Social Security Fund Managing Director Patrick Ayota told attendees that effective finance officers deliver measurable results beyond mere number management. He said finance leaders must define their professional legacy and demonstrate accountability. Assistant Auditor General James Bantu praised the awards program for honoring 45 executives across 65 categories since its launch eight years ago.
