President Murmu inaugurates Yashoda Medicity in Ghaziabad
President Droupadi Murmu opened Yashoda Medicity in Ghaziabad on Sunday, stating that medical services form a central component of national development. The president said India continues to expand health facilities nationwide to provide citizens with access to quality treatment. Private institutions can advance national wellness objectives through effective service delivery, she added.
Murmu praised the hospital’s response to the coronavirus outbreak and its support for tuberculosis elimination efforts. The facility should participate in sickle cell anemia eradication programs and cancer research partnerships with other medical centers, she said. Healthcare organizations must balance social obligations with clinical duties, the president noted.
The new medicity aims to deliver affordable international-standard care to all patients. Cooperation between government agencies and private providers will strengthen India’s standing as a global healthcare destination, Murmu said.
