Remedy reels as CEO exits, profits crash
Remedy Entertainment reported a 32 percent decline in revenue to 12.2 million euros in the third quarter of 2025, marking a difficult period for the Finnish game developer. The studio posted an operating loss of 16.4 million euros after its game FBC: Firebreak underperformed, prompting the departure of CEO Tero Virtala earlier this month.
Interim CEO Markus Mäki told investors on Thursday that Control 2 and the Max Payne remakes remain in full production. The company aims to double its 2024 revenue by 2027 and achieve a 30 percent profit margin while expanding its Control and Alan Wake franchises.
The studio celebrates its 30th anniversary as it pursues what Mäki called significant commercial success by 2030. A new project in early development will likely connect to the Remedy Connected Universe that links its two main franchises.
