Samsung faces price hike pressures for Galaxy S26
Samsung faces rising memory costs that threaten Galaxy S26 pricing but may avoid immediate increases through its semiconductor manufacturing operations. Memory suppliers Samsung and SK hynix told customers they will raise DRAM and NAND prices up to 30 percent in the fourth quarter, though typical increases will range from 5 to 15 percent.
The company can buy components from its chip division at lower rates than competitors who purchase from outside suppliers. Industry sources say this advantage will fade as market forces push prices higher across all manufacturers.
The Exynos 2600 processor helps Samsung reduce expenses compared with paying Qualcomm 280 dollars per Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. However, Samsung cannot set arbitrary prices for its 2-nanometer processors when industry wafer costs climb rapidly.
Premium phones will see smaller price jumps than budget models. An early 2026 release could give Samsung better positioning against rivals.
