Samsung readies Galaxy Z TriFold for reveal
Samsung will display its Galaxy Z TriFold smartphone on Monday at a technology showcase held in conjunction with the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Gyeongju, South Korea. The company has added security guards at its booth entrance before the reveal, according to Hankyung.
Attendees cannot touch the device, which will sit behind glass. The phone features a 10-inch interior screen and a 6.5-inch exterior display connected by two hinges that create a U-shaped fold. Samsung designed the system to protect the screen rather than combining inward and outward folds like Huawei’s Mate XT.
The device runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processors and features three batteries totaling more than 5,000 mAh. A titanium frame strengthens the body. The camera system centers on a 200-megapixel sensor with 100x zoom.
Samsung plans to sell the foldable in the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam for approximately 2,800 dollars.
