Corsair’s new PSUs promise silent, efficient power
Corsair introduced an updated version of its RMx SHIFT power supply series with enhanced cabling and internal upgrades aimed at PC enthusiasts. The second-generation models retain the distinctive side-mounted connector design while adding thinner debossed-PVC cables and low-profile cable combs for improved cable management and airflow.
All units include a native 12V-2×6 graphics card cable rated for 600 watts and meet ATX 3.1 and PCI Express 5.1 standards, supporting upcoming high-performance graphics cards like the GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 from NVIDIA. Japanese electrolytic capacitors rated for 105 degrees Celsius provide thermal stability, while Cybenetics Gold certification confirms efficiency between 87% and 89%. A 140 mm fluid dynamic bearing fan operates with a Zero RPM mode at lower loads for silent performance, and a rear knob allows manual cooling adjustments.
Available in 750-watt, 850-watt and 1,000-watt configurations, each fully modular unit carries a 10-year warranty. The power supplies use LLC resonant topology with DC-to-DC conversion for voltage stability. Corsair distributed the series through retailers, distributors and its web store, targeting builders who prioritize quiet operation and clean cable routing in gaming or workstation systems.
