Samsung shows AI-RAN tech at 6G summit
Samsung has demonstrated its AI-RAN technology, positioning artificial intelligence as the core of its 6G network architecture. At a recent industry summit, Executive Vice President JinGuk Jeong stated that the company is integrating AI directly into communication systems to enhance user experience and operational efficiency. The event featured live demonstrations where base station equipment autonomously optimized network performance in real time.
This initiative coincides with the official start of 6G standardization. Samsung has formed alliances with several carriers, including KT, SoftBank, and KDDI Research, and has joined Verizon’s 6G Innovation Forum. The company’s strategy focuses on building networks with native AI capabilities from the ground up, contrasting with traditional approaches that add AI features to existing designs. This early demonstration of functional technology aims to secure a leading position in the upcoming 6G infrastructure market.
