Sarah Keane named first female Cricket Ireland CEO
Sarah Keane will become Cricket Ireland’s chief executive in March 2026, marking the first time a woman has led a full member nation of the International Cricket Council. The qualified solicitor started her legal career at Matheson before spending two decades as Swim Ireland’s chief executive from 2004. She chaired the Olympic Federation of Ireland starting in 2017 and guided the country to its strongest Summer Games performance in 2024.
Keane serves on the Central Bank of Ireland’s board after receiving a second five-year appointment. Her athletic background spans national swimming competitions and international water polo. Cricket Ireland chair Brian MacNeice praised her administrative skills and integrity ahead of major events like the 2028 Olympics cricket debut and the 2030 T20 World Cup in Ireland.
