SK Hynix readies 7200MT DDR5 lineup
SK Hynix has developed four memory chip variants that reach 7,200 megatransfers per second, according to listings found on Chinese retailer JD. The South Korean manufacturer prepared dies in capacities from 2 gigabits to 4 gigabits across its A-die, B-die, C-die, and M-die production lines.
The company introduced a 2-gigabit B-die chip for the first time and expanded its M-die lineup to 4 gigabits. Memory modules using these chips will require circuit boards with 10 or 12 layers to maintain signal quality at elevated speeds. The new products exceed the current industry standard of 6,400 megatransfers per second set by JEDEC, the electronics engineering trade organization.
