Farmer generates 25,000 solar units daily under Modi’s vision
India’s renewable energy minister highlighted a farmer producing 25,000 electricity units daily from solar panels while cultivating crops beneath them. Pralhad Joshi credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for encouraging agricultural communities to adopt clean power solutions. The country installed 25 gigawatts of renewable capacity between April and September this year as solar generation led the expansion. India ranks as the world’s third-largest solar producer with approximately 125 gigawatts of capacity.
The nation exceeded its target by generating more than half its electricity from renewable sources five years ahead of schedule. Joshi addressed delegates at the eighth International Solar Alliance assembly opening ceremony scheduled from Oct. 27 through Oct. 30 in the capital. The minister emphasized that India’s renewable achievements represent progress for its people rather than statistical milestones. Solar farms allow farmers to generate income from electricity sales while maintaining agricultural production on the same land.
