SwitchBot Announces Smart Relay Switches with Matter Support
SwitchBot has introduced two smart relay switches with support for Matter. The relay switch fits into switch boxes and sockets and can thus make more devices smart.
The relay switches are 42x36x16mm in size and, therefore, fit in most switch boxes and sockets, writes SwitchBot. With the switches, users can, for example, control lighting or larger appliances via smartphone, voice commands, or preset schedules. The switches support Matter and are compatible with Apple HomeKit, Alexa, Google Home,e, and SmartThings.
The switches are compatible with other SwitchBot products and support Bluetooth, allowing the pairing up to ten SwitchBot Bluetooth devices. The devices also support Wi-Fi. The switches have an ESP32 processor and a flame-retardant housing.
SwitchBot is releasing two versions of the relay switch. The one is intended for ‘simpler’ installations, such as garage doors, doorbells, and irrigation systems. The 1 PM also has a built-in current measurement module for lamps or ceiling fans.
