UAA drops Silverback Creative Week
The Uganda Advertising Association and The Loeries have launched Silverback Creative Week, a six-day professional development event set for November 10–15, 2025, in Kampala. The program aims to raise standards in East Africa’s marketing and communications industry through workshops, competitions, and networking, culminating in the Silverback Awards under the theme “Elevating the Grind.”
The week opens with the Young Silverback Competition for professionals under 30, who will tackle a creative brief within 24 to 48 hours. Winners will receive medals, certificates, and internships with UAA member agencies. The Communications Industry Symposium will take place on November 14 at the Next Conference Center, featuring masterclasses led by leaders such as Kin Kariisa, Hilda Karamagi, and David Galukande, alongside sessions by practitioners in media, data, branding, and corporate affairs.
The Silverback Awards Gala, scheduled for November 15 at the Golf Course Hotel, will honor top campaigns in categories including Film, Digital, Public Relations, Media, Live Events, and Social Good, as well as emerging areas such as Data-Driven Campaigns and Customer Experience. Ticket prices range from UGX 100,000 for students to UGX 300,000 for non-members. UAA Chairman Rommel Jasi said the initiative reflects a drive to position East African creativity on the global stage.
