UDST, MCIT to host AI, software winter school in Qatar
The University of Doha for Science and Technology will partner with Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to present its second Winter School focused on artificial intelligence and software engineering during January 2026, with organizers planning expanded programming following strong attendance at the initial session. The debut program attracted scholars and students across more than 15 sessions, with 94 percent of participants describing content as professionally valuable and 90 percent indicating plans to return for subsequent offerings.
The 2026 curriculum will address industrial automation driven by artificial intelligence, responsible software engineering practices, multimodal systems, large language model agents, and privacy protection techniques through lectures, workshops and discussion panels. Officials described the collaboration as supporting Qatar National Vision 2030 and Digital Agenda 2030 objectives by preparing students, researchers and professionals with advanced competencies for technology-focused industries.
