Vivo Energy team visits Albertine oil projects
Vivo Energy Uganda will visit oil and gas sites in the Albertine Graben from Oct. 21 through Oct. 23. Managing Director Joanita Mukasa Menya will lead a team to the Tilenga and Kingfisher projects, Kabalega Industrial Park and Hoima City Stadium. The company wants to understand upstream and midstream operations as Uganda prepares to begin oil production.
Vivo Energy recently formed a partnership with Uganda National Oil Company to build liquefied petroleum gas storage at Kabalega Industrial Park. The facility will help increase household LPG use to 20 percent by 2030 and reduce dependence on biomass fuels. Corporate Communications Manager Valery Okecho said the visit will identify infrastructure investment opportunities and align downstream operations with national energy goals.
The LPG project will create employment and expand access to clean cooking fuel. Vivo Energy aims to support sustainable energy development as Uganda approaches its first oil production. The visit demonstrates the company’s focus on building partnerships across the petroleum supply chain.
