Tea market sees steady demand despite lower loose tea activity
Tea sales this week attracted solid interest from buyers as most varieties maintained stable prices. The market received support from primary customers, though demand from loose tea purchasers declined compared to recent weeks. Traders offered 49,421 packages of CTC leaf with strong buyer participation across categories.
Well-made broken leaf teas held firm prices with limited withdrawals while medium grades traded near previous levels. Fannings matched last week’s rates as blenders provided consistent support. Dust varieties totaled 9,462 packages, sold at steady to higher prices, with reduced withdrawals in plain and blender-friendly categories.
