CD Projekt RED begins production on next The Witcher game

CD Projekt RED has started production on the fourth The Witcher game. The studio confirmed this on social media. CDPR already confirmed the arrival of that game in 2022. A release date has not yet been announced.

“Project Polaris has entered production,” CD Projekt RED announced in a short statement on social media. Polaris is the internal codename for the next Witcher game, which the developer confirmed in 2022. It was reported in January that the game would enter production sometime this year, but it was not yet known when exactly that would happen.

Little else is known about Polaris. CD Projekt RED previously reported that the game begins a new saga within The Witcher franchise. The developer also confirmed that the game will be made in Unreal Engine 5. Previously, the studio used its RED engine.
