Erewa-Meggison reclaims MANEG Lagos chair
The Manufacturing Association of Nigeria Export Group has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing sustainable development and employment opportunities through non-oil exports. Mrs Odiri Erewa-Meggison, External Affairs Director at British American Tobacco Nigeria, won reelection as Chairman at the Annual General Meeting in Lagos. She pledged to advocate for the transparent administration of the Export Expansion Grant and the settlement of pending claims.
Under her leadership, the group plans to engage government officials on policies that boost competitiveness for Nigerian-made products. MANEG will help members navigate the African Continental Free Trade Area framework to access regional and international markets. The organization aims to reduce operational expenses for exporters and strengthen cross-border trade relationships.
The Director-General of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria emphasized that export-driven industrialization remains essential for economic growth. Government officials from the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment and the Nigerian Export Promotion Council attended the meeting. Proper infrastructure and financing can transform manufacturing exporters into drivers of widespread job creation.
