Farmlinkup connects farmers and consumers online
A digital marketplace connecting Nigerian farmers with buyers has started operations to help producers sell crops before they spoil. Omoyele Omonira created Farmlinkup after recognizing that many growers lose money when perishable goods sit too long without reaching consumers.
The service lets farmers photograph their products and post contact details so buyers can arrange deliveries. More than 50,000 people have signed up for the platform that offers clear pricing and shipping assistance. Omonira wants young people to join agriculture and seeks government backing through training programs and affordable loans.
The founder believes Africa could become a major food supplier within five years if more farmers use digital tools. The platform serves growers, equipment sellers, and industrial buyers across Nigeria and other countries. Omonira received an award from the Ooni of Ife for his agricultural work.
