Idris Elba doubles down on music power
Actor and musician Idris Elba renewed his worldwide publishing contract with Universal Music Publishing Group to continue developing his recording career across multiple genres. The performer achieved commercial success with his 2022 single, Boasty, which reached fifth on the rhythm and blues charts and accumulated over 180 million streams. He operates two record labels, 7Wallace and Sound International, that promote electronic dance music and diverse global sounds through events in major cities.
Elba performed at prominent festivals in 2025, sharing stages at Coachella and Glastonbury while hosting residencies at Ibiza venues. Publishing executives praised his versatility in creating club tracks, amapiano productions, and folk compositions. The British entertainer will headline the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix concert in December after appearing at Silverstone earlier this year.
