Intel appoints Craig H. Barratt to board of directors
Intel Corporation has added Craig H. Barratt to its board of directors with immediate effect, appointing the 63-year-old technology executive as an independent board member. Barratt previously guided Atheros Communications through its initial public offering before its 3.1 billion dollar acquisition by Qualcomm and later served as senior vice president at Intel, overseeing Ethernet, photonics, and networking operations following the company’s purchase of Barefoot Networks, where he held the chief executive position.
His background includes leadership roles at Google, managing fiber broadband, and energy projects. Barratt currently functions as lead independent director at Intuitive Surgical while maintaining board positions at Astera Labs and multiple private firms. He earned bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering, pure mathematics, and physics from the University of Sydney before completing master’s and doctoral studies in electrical engineering at Stanford University. Intel stated its experience transforming technology enterprises will advance corporate strategy and expansion objectives.
