Real estate deals hit record $2.9 billion
Indian real estate attracted $2.9 billion across 42 transactions in the third quarter of 2025, setting a new quarterly record, according to Grant Thornton Bharat on Friday. The total comprised nine public market activities with five initial public offerings and four qualified institutional placements. Private deal 33 generated $1.8 billion, as commercial and retail properties drew increased investor attention.
Mergers and acquisitions reached 21 deals valued at $843 million, while private equity rebounded with 12 transactions totaling $859 million. Shabala Shinde of Grant Thornton Bharat attributed the growth to demand for institutional-quality assets and stronger capital-market participation. Commercial development dominated activity, accounting for 70 percent of transaction volume and 91 percent of total value. Policy support and improved access to financing are transforming the market into a more transparent and professionally managed industry.
