Leadway Assurance appoints Adebisi Lamikanra as board chairperson
Leadway Assurance has named Adebisi Lamikanra as board chairperson following the retirement of General Martin Luther Agwai, who completed nearly nine years leading the Nigerian insurance company. Lamikanra becomes the first woman to hold the position at the organization, bringing nearly 40 years of financial and advisory expertise after serving as the inaugural female partner at KPMG Nigeria and retiring as head of advisory services for the African region.
The chartered accountant holds board seats at Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, Evercare Hospital Lekki, and Nestle Nigeria while having completed executive programs at Harvard Business School, INSEAD University, and Kellogg School of Management. Her predecessor oversaw major achievements, including the company’s restructuring into a holding company and expansion across West Africa during his tenure.
Lamikanra pledged to advance digital transformation and financial inclusion while building on the organization’s five decades of operations in the financial services sector.
