MAN honors Otu with Made in Nigeria award
Cross River State received recognition from the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria for its support for domestic products. Deputy Governor Peter Odey accepted the award on behalf of Governor Bassey Otu at the Adeola Odutola Lecture in Lagos on behalf of the administration. Association President Francis Meshioye praised policies that favor local manufacturers and generate employment through government purchasing decisions.
The state bought 80 vehicles from Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing and ordered 130 more units from the Anambra producer. Officials acquired more than 100 tractors from a Kwara company with 220 additional machines awaiting delivery. Odey said indigenous contractors build roads across the territory while tax reforms encourage industrial expansion. He asked the association to hold its 2026 gathering in Calabar.
