MIPF names Taruvinga new chief
The Mining Industry Pension Fund appointed Anymore Taruvinga as principal officer and chief executive on Friday, November 1. Board chairperson Clara P. Sadomba said he will lead strategic planning and strengthen operations to protect member retirement benefits.
Taruvinga previously led the Zimbabwean Securities and Exchange Commission for three years. He worked eight years at the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange in roles spanning product development, business development and market operations. His career includes experience as an investment analyst and treasury dealer, handling money markets and foreign currency transactions.
The new executive holds a CFA charter and earned graduate and undergraduate degrees in finance from the National University of Science and Technology. He completed additional training in retirement fund management through the Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe.
Taruvinga serves as a nonexecutive board member at POSB, where he chairs the finance committee. He held similar positions with the Investor Protection Board and worked as vice chairperson of the National Anti-Money Laundering Advisory Committee.
