Modders resurrect Bully with outlaw online chaos
Modders are developing Bully Online, a modification that adds multiplayer capabilities to the personal computer edition of Bully: Scholarship Edition. The project will let players explore Bullworth Academy together and participate in cooperative activities, expanding beyond the original game’s limited two-player classroom competitions. Community creator SWEGTA said the modification introduces an inventory system in which players earn money through missions and spend it on property, weapons, and transportation, with lockable vehicle keys.
The team plans to open private servers for financial supporters via Ko-Fi in December, before a public release. Supporters receive early access, custom name tags, an in-game camera, and priority server entry. The modification uses the DSL script loader plugin to enable server connections and custom programming. Rockstar Games previously shut down similar fan projects, raising questions about whether Bully Online will survive to public launch.
