Music Nation launches to transform UAE music rights
Music Nation Copyrights Management began administering public performance and mechanical rights across the United Arab Emirates after receiving government approval in June. The collective management organization partners with Broadcast Music Inc. and SoundExchange to administer neighboring rights. Rasha Khalifa Al Mubarak founded the company and serves as chairwoman alongside newly appointed executives Amer M. Samhoun, James K. Petrie and Ali Dee.
The organization operates from Abu Dhabi and Dubai offices with support from the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism. Music Nation claims to offer the region’s first platform combining streamlined licensing for venues and broadcasters with transparent creator reporting. The company integrates global databases from BMI and SoundExchange to improve song matching accuracy and reduce unmatched royalties for songwriters, composers, publishers, artists and recording owners.
