NDPHC urges firms to join direct power plan
Niger Delta Power Holding Company is urging high-consumption organizations to join its Eligible Customer Programme, allowing them to purchase electricity directly from the generator and other production companies. The initiative permits industrial and commercial users to access power capacities ranging from 6 megawatts to 20 megawatts, with approved participants securing flexible pricing through negotiated tariffs and enhanced supply dependability.
Managing Director Jennifer Adighije characterized the framework as a strategic mechanism for strengthening industrial competitiveness across Nigeria while addressing the company’s financial constraints. The power generator operates more than 2,000 megawatts of unutilized capacity and views direct sales to bulk consumers as essential for optimizing generation assets and supporting manufacturing expansion. Phoenix Steel Mills demonstrates how participants benefit from stable electricity delivery, according to company leadership.
