Nigeria launches talent accelerator network
Nigeria has established the Talent Accelerator Network to enhance workforce capabilities and bridge productivity deficiencies while advancing digital transformation across the economy. Industry Minister Jumoke Oduwole characterized the platform as connecting policy frameworks with educational institutions and business sectors to drive employment readiness and economic expansion. Education Minister Maruf Alausa emphasized aligning vocational programs with labor market requirements to ensure competitive positioning for Nigerian youth.
The network operates within the World Economic Forum’s Reskilling Revolution framework, coordinated through the National Talent Export Programme, bringing together government agencies, private enterprises, academic organizations and civil society groups. Managing Director Saadia Zahidi noted the collaboration reflects a commitment to equipping individuals with the competencies needed for evolving global markets. National Coordinator Teju Abisoye stated the initiative will address talent shortages through coordinated action planning.
Priority areas include developing digital competencies for technology sectors, business process outsourcing and emerging green industries, with emphasis on mobilizing public-private financing for workforce redeployment into high-demand positions.
