NGA urges action at Lagos gas forum 2025
Nigeria must take decisive steps to develop its natural gas resources and accelerate industrial expansion, the president of the Nigerian Gas Association told business leaders in Lagos on Saturday. Akachukwu Nwokedi said the fuel drives energy access, supports manufacturing, and helps the nation transition to cleaner power sources. The third Gas Investment Forum gathered investors and officials to discuss ways to attract capital into the sector. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made gas a priority in national energy plans.
The country holds more than 200 trillion cubic feet of proven reserves, but needs better policies to convert potential into results. Nwokedi said the gathering provides a platform for partnerships that create jobs and strengthen economic output. He praised organizers for maintaining an important venue where stakeholders can design frameworks to boost competitiveness. The International Gas Union president attended the event, signaling global interest in Nigerian energy developments.
