NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti faces shortage as GDDR7 supply tightens
Supply constraints for GDDR7 memory modules may severely limit availability of the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB graphics card from NVIDIA, with manufacturers reportedly redirecting scarce 2GB GDDR7 chips toward higher-margin products like the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090. Memory pricing for both GDDR6 and GDDR7 variants has risen sharply as fabrication facilities prioritize data center components, including RDIMM and HBM for artificial intelligence computing infrastructure, leaving reduced manufacturing capacity for consumer PC memory through 2026.
The mid-range RTX 5060 Ti was anticipated to become a volume seller by balancing performance with affordability, yet the ongoing shortage could trigger limited stock and elevated prices at launch, similar to previous graphics card supply disruptions. Distributors have cautioned that retail inventory will remain constrained during the initial release period as semiconductor makers fulfill more profitable contracts with AI firms.
