Oborevwori drives roads, power boost across Delta State
Delta State’s government is advancing infrastructure projects and broadening energy distribution throughout its territory, according to Charles Aniagwu, who holds the portfolio for rural roads and public information. The official stated on Monday during an appearance on The Morning Show broadcast by ARISE News that these programs aim to stimulate economic expansion, diversify revenue sources, and enhance residents’ welfare.
Aniagwu noted the administration led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has elevated infrastructure efforts significantly, ensuring all 25 local government areas receive improvements to roads, medical facilities, and educational institutions. He emphasized that Delta’s substantial oil revenue contributions to federal coffers justify its allocation share, adding that securing coastal areas has created favorable conditions for petroleum production.
The commissioner announced that a groundbreaking ceremony for the Kwale Free Trade Zone will occur on Tuesday, with multiple companies already establishing operations on approximately 1,000 hectares. He explained that the state is extending a 33KV electricity line from Abraka through Ogume to Kwale to connect communities to power, despite electricity provision being primarily a private sector responsibility.
