PlayStation Portal leak teases cloud play
Sony may add cloud streaming to the PlayStation Portal handheld device for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, based on evidence found in the PlayStation mobile application. A user discovered references to the feature on two game store pages before Sony removed them.
The leaked information appeared on listings for Deliver at All Costs and the Dead Space remake. Subscribers could stream digital purchases without downloading titles to their home console first. Sony has not confirmed plans to introduce this capability.
The company has said it wants to expand the capabilities of the Remote Play device since its 2023 release. Cloud streaming would address requests from users who bought the system. The Portal connects to PlayStation 5 consoles for remote gaming but currently requires games to be installed locally.
