Stranger Things 5 trailer wrecks fans
Netflix released the trailer for the fifth season of Stranger Things on Thursday morning, revealing a militarized Hawkins under quarantine following the destruction of the town in the fourth season. The nearly three-minute preview shows that Vecna has evolved into a more monstrous form covered in Upside Down matter since his apparent defeat.
The trailer concludes with Vecna levitating Will Byers and declaring that the character will assist him one final time. This scene suggests the final season will address two central mysteries about the Upside Down’s nature and why Will was originally taken. Eleven appears to be breaking through security barriers while Mike resumes his leadership position.
Other characters face personal struggles as Dustin continues mourning Eddie’s death and Lucas protects Max from ongoing threats. Nancy Wheeler appears to be wielding a machine gun, while Steve Harrington’s minimal presence has concerned viewers about his survival. Robin also returns for the final episodes.
The streaming service will release the season in three parts. Volume one arrives on Wednesday, November 26, at 5 p.m. Pacific time. Volume two follows on Wednesday, December 25 at 5 p.m. Pacific. The series finale streams on Wednesday, December 31 at 5 p.m. Pacific with worldwide simultaneous availability.
