Sujimoto fights fraud claims, vows legal push
Sujimoto Construction Limited will take legal steps against parties spreading allegations about a $556,000 fraud claim, which the developer calls false and damaging. Group Managing Director Sijibomi Ogundele said project delays at The LeonardoBySujimoto stem from regulatory requirements and economic pressures rather than wrongdoing. The company obtained necessary permits in 2024 and expects to complete the tower in December 2025 after addressing client refund requests through verified procedures.
Previous developments like The Giuliano and LucreziaBySujimoto have increased in value from 285 million naira to more than 2.5 billion naira over six years, despite rising material costs. Sujimoto paid over 7 billion naira in employee compensation over the past decade while supporting thousands of construction workers. The firm criticized attempts to involve public agencies in private business disputes and pledged to maintain quality standards and transparent operations.
