Uganda, Tanzania team up on cybersecurity
Uganda is enhancing its digital cooperation with Tanzania through a joint initiative on cybersecurity and data protection. A delegation from Tanzania’s Information and Communication Technologies Commission visited the Uganda National Information Technology Authority in Kampala to observe key infrastructure.
The Tanzanian officials toured facilities, including the National Data Centre and the National Computer Emergency Response Team. The visit facilitated an exchange of best practices for improving public-sector cybersecurity and building defenses against cyber threats.
Uganda shared its extensive experience in cybersecurity frameworks with the goal of strengthening its position as a regional hub for secure digital systems. This collaboration is intended to foster greater regulatory alignment and develop interoperable technology systems within the East African Community.
