Sierra Leone, Guinea sign free roaming pact
The Republics of Sierra Leone and Guinea have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish free cross-border mobile roaming. This agreement was finalized during the 15th Session of the African Council of Regulators. The initiative aims to eliminate communication barriers, making mobile services more affordable and accessible for citizens traveling or conducting business between the two nations.
This partnership is considered a substantial step toward regional integration. It supports the broader continental objective of a Digital Single Market, a key goal promoted by the organization Smart Africa.
The collaborative effort demonstrates how aligned regulatory frameworks can create new prospects for trade and socio-economic growth. This move is expected to advance the vision of a more digitally unified Africa.
