Virgin Music, GR6 extend partnership to boost Brazilian artists
Virgin Music Group announced a decade-long extension of its distribution agreement with Brazilian record company GR6. This renewal continues their collaboration that started five years ago. GR6 ranks among Brazil’s leading independent labels according to industry data. The São Paulo operation, managed by executive Rodrigo Oliveira, represents performers including Perera DJ and Nilo. Their track Let’s Go 4 ranked among Brazil’s most popular songs last year.
The label plans to release GR6 Historias, a collection containing sixty re-recorded renditions of earlier popular songs. Performers such as MC Livinho and MC Davi will offer new interpretations of these compositions. Video producer KondZilla will collaborate on this project. Virgin Music’s Latin America head praised GR6’s contribution to Brazilian musical culture. The agreement supports Virgin’s international growth strategy, following recent partnerships in Ghana and Vietnam. Oliveira expressed confidence about creating global opportunities for Brazilian artists through this continued alliance.
