Goyal hypes India deeptech dreams
Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal led discussions at The IndUS Entrepreneurs conference in Bengaluru on Friday, stressing the need to boost innovation and strengthen research and development in India’s deep tech sector. He met with deep tech and semiconductor startups at the event and later shared his experience on social media, noting talks centered on building India’s deep tech and semiconductor ecosystem.
Goyal’s Bengaluru appearance followed his remarks at India’s largest deep tech conference in Delhi, where he highlighted government backing for advancements in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and machine learning. He praised Indian youth for embracing deep tech and commended rising investment in the field, saying Indians aim high and are ready to play a major global role.
The Union Budget 2025–26 allocated Rs 10,000 crore through a Fund of Funds scheme to support AI-driven and deep tech startups. Earlier, TiE Delhi–NCR held its major deep tech conference on October 29, gathering CXOs, policymakers, investors, scientists, and innovators to shape India’s progress in AI, semiconductors, space, defence, biotech, and life sciences.
