iPhone Air holds strong resale value despite doubts
The Apple iPhone Air maintains strong resale values in the American secondary market despite recent negative forecasts about consumer demand. Trade-in platform SellCell shows the device fetches $671 for a 256-gigabyte model in excellent condition compared with $827 for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The Air depreciates 32.8 percent from its $999 retail price, while the Pro Max depreciates 31 percent from its $1,199 retail price.
Recent industry analysis painted a darker picture for the ultrathin smartphone. KeyBanc Capital Markets surveys found minimal consumer interest in the product category. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported the technology company asked suppliers to reduce iPhone Air component production by 80 percent from the original projections.
