LASAA engages Lagos lawmakers on advertising regulations
Lagos State’s advertising regulatory body met with the assembly’s environmental committee members on Tuesday to review compliance standards and operational performance. Committee Chairman Shabi Rasheed Adekola praised the agency for maintaining organized signage systems across the city under Managing Director Prince Fatiu Akiolu.
The lawmakers emphasized collaboration between government branches to deliver accountable public services aligned with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration goals. Adekola urged the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency to expand public education campaigns about billboard safety regulations and permit requirements.
Akiolu told legislators his team follows industry best practices to create safe visual environments for residents and visitors. The oversight session confirmed structural integrity standards for outdoor advertisements throughout the metropolis.
Both parties are committed to transparency measures that enhance regulatory efficiency. The agency works to maximize compliance rates while ensuring advertising installations pose no risks to communities across Nigeria’s commercial capital.
