Malaysia-Thailand trade hits US$18.68 billion in 2025
Malaysia and Thailand recorded 18.68 billion dollars in bilateral trade through the first eight months of 2025, marking a 6.99 percent rise from the previous year. Both countries aim to reach 30 billion dollars in trade by 2027 as Thailand encourages Malaysian businesses to connect with its suppliers across food processing, halal products, health and beauty items, furniture, and home decor.
The Department of International Trade Promotion Malaysia office links Malaysian importers with Thai exporters and arranges participation in major trade exhibitions. Worawan Wanwil, who directs the office, said Thailand stands prepared to collaborate with Malaysian enterprises. Malaysia remains among Thailand’s key trading partners within ASEAN as officials from both nations expect stronger economic cooperation ahead.
