Songscription raises $5m for AI sheet music
Songscription, an AI-powered music transcription service, has secured five million dollars in a funding round led by Reach Capital. The platform, which converts audio into editable sheet music and guitar tabs, has attracted 150,000 users since its launch five months ago. Company co-founder and CEO Andrew Carlins explained that the technology addresses a common difficulty for musicians who cannot easily find notation for more obscure songs.
The investment will be used to expand the platform’s instrument library and develop new features, including a real-time feedback system. Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Ron Thal, an investor and advisor, stated that the tool is a phenomenal resource for both music teachers and professional musicians, saving significant time. The startup is currently negotiating with global music publishers to secure additional training data for its AI models.
