TP-Link launches Archer BE260 budget Wi-Fi 7 router
TP-Link plans to release the Archer BE260, a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router priced around $100, targeting cost-conscious consumers upgrading from older wireless standards. The compact device delivers combined throughput reaching 5 gigabits per second through a 4.3 gigabits per second 5 gigahertz band alongside a 688 megabits per second 2.4 gigahertz band, incorporating Multi-Link Operation, 4K-QAM modulation and Multi-RU allocation technologies for enhanced efficiency during heavy network loads.
Port configuration includes 2.5 gigabit Ethernet connections for both WAN and LAN applications, plus three additional gigabit Ethernet ports for wired devices. EasyMesh compatibility enables network expansion through compatible TP-Link nodes. Security features span WPA through WPA3 protocols, including enterprise-grade WPA/WPA2-Enterprise with 802.1X authentication suitable for home office environments.
The router measures 155 by 52.5 by 170 millimeters, designed for space-constrained apartments and small residential properties. Availability begins next month.
