Citi Foundation grants $500K to JA Korea for youth employment efforts
Citigroup’s charitable division awarded JA Korea $500,000 through its Global Innovation Challenge program on Wednesday. The two-year grant will fund career training and financial literacy courses for disadvantaged young people across the country. Citibank Korea selected the local nonprofit after reviewing 50 organizations from multiple nations that address youth unemployment.
JA Korea plans to help at-risk teenagers by teaching workplace skills, money management, and basic academic subjects. Citibank Korea chief executive Yoo Myung-soon noted the bank has supported Korean community groups for consecutive years. Edward Skyler from Citigroup said equipping young adults with practical skills remains essential as job-market obstacles persist.
