Delhivery bleeds cash despite revenue jump in Q2
Delhivery recorded a 50 crore rupee loss during the second quarter of fiscal 2026 despite higher sales, as operating expenses climbed faster than income at the Gurugram logistics company. The firm disclosed on Wednesday that quarterly operating revenue reached 2,559 crore rupees compared with 2,190 crore rupees during the same period one year earlier, representing a 17 percent gain. When combined with 92 crore rupees from other activities, the total income hit 2,651 crore rupees.
Freight handling and related service charges jumped 12.5 percent to 1,843 crore rupees and accounted for 68 percent of all spending. Total costs grew 18 percent to 2,708 crore rupees from 2,294 crore rupees, driven by legal fees, equipment depreciation and administrative overhead, despite a 22 percent drop in staff compensation to 425 crore rupees. The company had posted a 10 crore rupee profit in the second quarter of fiscal 2025.
Six-month earnings declined 37 percent to 40.5 crore rupees from 64.5 crore rupees previously. Management reported record monthly volumes exceeding 100 million shipments during September and October, with single-day dispatches peaking at 7.2 million orders. Delhivery acquired a 99.44 percent position in Ecom Express during June for as much as 1,400 crore rupees.
