Kennedys partners with Spellbook for AI training program
Kennedys partnered with the artificial intelligence platform Spellbook to train junior attorneys as automation reshapes entry-level legal tasks. The program addresses concerns that technology eliminates traditional learning opportunities, like contract drafting and document review, that help new lawyers build skills.
Spellbook operates in 80 nations where 4,000 legal teams review more than 10 million contracts using its system, powered by OpenAI models. The platform accelerates contract review, redlining and drafting through advanced legal algorithms that streamline routine work.
The firms will create simulated exercises replicating work scenarios that may disappear from offices as machines handle basic assignments. Kennedys will test the initiative across American and British locations later this year before sharing results with the wider profession.
Chief Knowledge Officer Catherine Goodman said the partnership applies technology to lawyer development following the firm’s completion of workflow improvement projects. Junior associates will practice realistic assignments of varying length tailored to their practice groups, preparing them for client matters.
