Stitches Africa unveils app in Lagos
Stitches Africa has introduced a mobile application connecting African fashion designers and tailors with international customers through artificial intelligence technology that generates precise body measurements for custom garments. Co-founder Franklin Peters stated the platform addresses demand from diaspora communities seeking authentic African clothing while enabling local artisans to receive orders and payments in foreign currency from global markets.
The e-commerce service announced a 50 million dollar financing arrangement led by JF Advisory Group, with Cedrus Trustees serving as custodian for the transaction. Marketing head Joy Oikeh explained the investment will support international expansion, merchant production funding, logistics infrastructure and product development. The platform offers both bespoke and ready-to-wear items from verified African designers.
Legal head Ntishorkara Monkom characterized the initiative as strengthening value chains while linking African creativity to worldwide consumers. Peters noted the technology provides convenience comparable to established e-commerce platforms while specifically serving the African fashion sector.
